What We Do

Sharing the Gospel:  We invite people to read, hear, and study the Gospel together with us. All are welcomed to join our Gospel-centered, united community.

Sunday Worship Service: Christ–centered, Bible–based Sunday messages; joyful praises in songs and hymns; a time of prayer; and invitation to confess our faith using the Apostles’ Creed

Bible study: Based on a single passage in the Bible, we answer questions designed to aid discussion and discovery of what God had to teach us in the passage: about our faith, who God is, who we are, and the passage’s application to our personal life.

  • One-to-One Bible study:  Done at a mutually convenient place and time, usually on the NC State campus. There is typically one Bible teacher and one Bible student.
  • Group Bible study:  A limited number of group studies are conducted, often with multiple Bible students and/or multiple Bible teachers. A mutually agreed upon time among students and teachers will be determined each semester.

Reflection writing and fellowship: After each Bible study, everyone is encouraged to write their own reflection about what they have learned. By writing a reflection, the word of God can be planted in our hearts. Sharing reflections occurs the next week before the Bible study. We share in order to mutually learn from each other, pray together, and build up a loving Christian community.

Conferences and special events

  • Summer Bible Conference:  We deeply investigate what the Bible has to teach us on one topic such as God’s love, walking with God, etc. This is an opportunity for us to meet many new people ahd have fellowship with students and leaders from ministries on about 16 other campuses from Pennsylvania to Florida. Each person gets to know a group of peers through meeting in small groups multiple times for prayer, Bible study, and reflection sharing. We meet on a university campus in the Virginia mountains.
  • Easter Conference:  We have special Bible studies and worship service in the week(s) surrounding Easter in order to learn more of and remember Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. We want to grow in faith and love for Jesus because of His sacrifice for our sins on the Cross and His victory in His resurrection over the power of sin and death, which we are now free of through Gospel faith.
  • Christmas Worship Service:  Before the end of Fall semester final exams, we have a Christmas Worship service and time of fellowship celebrating the birth of Jesus. Special Bible studies occur in weeks prior to this worship service to prepare us for the Christmas message and celebration. We remember Jesus who humbled Himself to be a baby in a manger for our sake, so that He could be Immanuel, God with us.
  • International Bible Conferences: University Bible Fellowship is an international church. For four years, world regions primarily by continent hold their regional conferences. American students have some opportunities to go.  Every 5 years, churches from all over the world converge in the United States for an international Bible Conference. It is an excellent opportunity for spiritual growth through well prepared messages, drama, musical performance, prayer, and fellowship. At these conferences, the gospel is clearly presented. This is an opportunity for non-Christians to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and believers to grow in their faith.

Train LeadersWe pray for and support students to grow as Christian leaders in the image of Christ, be qualified to teach others, and to become effective disciple makers.
