SHINE LIKE THE STARS FOR EVER AND EVER

Daniel 11:36-12:13

Key Verses: 12:2-3

“Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”

1. Read 11:36-45. What does the king of the north honor and how does he deceive people? (36-39) How strong is his power? (40-45a) What is his end? (45b; refer to Daniel 8:25) What characteristics of the antichrist and his final destiny, who resembles Satan, can you find in these verses?

2. Read 12:1-3. Who protects the people of God in the end times and why do they need protection? (1a; refer to Matthew 24:21-22) Who will be saved and how? (1b, 2a) What will happen to those whose names are not written in the book of life? (2b; compare to John 5:28-29) Who will shine like the stars for ever and ever? (3)

3. Read verses 4-7. What must Daniel do with what he hears? (4a) What does it mean that many will go here and there to increase knowledge? (4b) To whom did one of the two angels ask a question regarding the duration of the time of the end? (5-7a) What was his answer? (7b; compare to Daniel 7:25)

4. Read verses 8-10. When Daniel asked about the final outcome, what was he told to do? (8-9a) What would happen to the people of faith? (10a) What would happen to the wicked? (10b)

5. Read verses 11-13. What trials come upon God’s people in the time of the end, and which ones are blessed? (11-12) What is the last thing Daniel must do? (13a) What is his hope? (13b) After learning many things about the end times, what should we do?
